Enter the Studio
It’s been over 3 months now in the new studio and I am still trying to figure it all out.
At first, I was sharing the space with my son, doing online school. The studio is also linked to the offices and construction space of our family business. And if I just want to sew in the evenings I no longer have my stuff right there at home. It’s been… an adjustment. Slowly, though, I am getting there. While I haven’t fully figured out a schedule for the day just yet - the competing interests of my business, the family business, the family, and sewing are in a constant battle for my time - I have settled in to finding the joy here and still finding it at home. Home is now where I do all my hand work. As a bonus, I am finding more and more things to sew by hand so there will be no shortage of things to do at home. I am also reading more at home and walking the dog even more. Neither of those are bad things!
And finally, I am setting up for both hosting classes in the new studio and filming some things. I am very, very excited about both of these things. Having folks join me here and contribute to the joy I feel in this happy space is helping build the community I’d hoped for. This is becoming my own little field of dreams. From the yellow floor up.
